Renovations to 10,000 sf of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM) at the William M. Davies Jr. Career and Technical High School expanded and enhanced existing academic facilities to support a new curriculum for students entering into manufacturing careers. The Machine Technology program teaches students how to use cutting-edge technology, computers, and numerically controlled machines as well as the design software that runs them. The renovated CAM includes a new CNC shop, quality control room, saw area, welding area, tool crib and open teaching area. The Bio-Manufacturing program offers students a large-scale bio-manufacturing experience. The renovated space includes a new modular clean room, prep room, upstream and downstream areas, water quality area, forensics area with bioreactors, chromatography lab, and a classroom for 20 students.
