Westfield Lofts

This mill rehabilitation involved conversion of a late nineteenth-century masonry mill complex into 22 affordable rental apartments and 47 market-rate loft apartments. To turn these abandoned and derelict historic structures into a positive contributor to the neighborhood, the brownfield site was remediated, later additions were selectively removed and a courtyard between the buildings was landscaped. During a subsequent phase, DBVW Architects renovated an early 20th-century, 50,000-square-foot wood building to create commercial offices and additional residential units.
