The Suites at Wamsutta Place
DBVW worked with Acorn, Inc. to convert this historic former textile mill into the newest housing option at Wamsutta Place in New Bedford, MA. Originally built in 1889, this adaptive reuse project uses historic tax credits and includes a mixture of studio, one, and two bedroom loft-style apartments. Combining historic charm and modern luxury amenities, the design features original masonry, exposed beams, and large custom windows creating bright, welcoming living spaces reminiscent of the former industrial use of the building.

Doug’s experience with historic, low income, and new market tax credits has helped numerous important projects move forward and has solidified many long-term client relationships. His love of fishing consumes a great deal of his free time, as do his three sons, and you will often find them together on Narragansett Bay chasing striped bass.
