Moses Brown Jones Library

DBVW Architects worked closely with Moses Brown School on the renovation of the Walter Jones Library, a 3-story, 11,000 sf historic structure. DBVW completely redesigned the Library to be a place where new technologies are combined with traditional knowledge resources in a user-focused environment that supports both individual and collaborative learning. The renovated library includes an open area with moveable soft seating, flexile tables and seating for table-based teaching, a laptop bar, and space for quiet reading. Small group study rooms and a classroom for up to 20 students open directly onto the common area.

“Since the renovation, many more students call the library home. It’s gone from being ‘too far to go’ to being the preferred place to study, relax, and meet up with friends. Along with the new Woodman Family Community & Performance Center, it has become the heart of our campus.”
