Farmhouse Two Residence
Located on a stony lane in Southern Rhode Island, this rural nine-acre site is bordered by a small river and consists of open land, woodlands and wetlands. The house comprises simple forms grouped in a manner reminiscent of traditional New England farm settings. Exterior materials such as cedar shingles, pine boarding, galvanized metal and local stone will age gracefully and blend the structure with its natural environment. Interior spaces are designed to be intimate yet open - and to create a strong relationship with the outdoors.

Michael’s interest in modern cities, vernacular structures, industrial heritage and rural life has led him to many foreign countries and remote villages and informs much of his work.
