The first-floor expansion and renovation of this corporate headquarters focused on breaking the mold of traditional and formal office settings to create a collaborative space for more engagement among employees. A modern and open concept combines views of the Jamestown Bridge to attract the workforce back to the office after an extended perioid of remote work. The new large gathering and dining space surrounded by glass engages the open workstations and remodeled offices while also matching the energy of the surrounding bay. The reception area was relocated to the first floor to welcome employees and clients immediately as they step through the doors. Amenities such as privacy rooms and huddle spaces were added throughout the office to allow more videoconferencing and breakout opportunities.

Sara joined DBVW as an Interior Designer in the fall of 2013. She has over 20 years of experience in the industry, including several years designing interiors for an internationally recognized hospitality design firm and as a Principal and Owner of her own firm in Chicago. Whether working on a hospital, academic space, senior living development, historic building or single family residence, Sara has the ability to translate the client’s style and unique needs into her design. Sara has a daughter and a cat named Opus, who all live near the water and spend as much time outside as they can.
