DBVW Architects worked with a non-profit housing developer to create 122 new units of affordable housing on an existing site in Waterbury, CT. This complicated development, implemented in two phases, created a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom units in a variety of one-story flats and two-story townhouses. The completed development provides well-designed, safe, energy efficient dwellings for residents, many of whom occupied the previous housing development on the site that was constructed as a temporary facility in the 1940s and was sub-standard in many respects.
