Clark Biscuit Lofts

Constructed in 1884 and 1920 and totaling 92,000 square feet, two buildings remain of the original Clark Biscuit Company mill complex. DBVW Architects created 43 units of affordable housing within this former biscuit factory, including incorporating original brick rotary ovens within two of the units and restoring the historic masonry and concrete building facades. Sustainable design elements include natural daylighting; high efficiency mechanical equipment; new, historically appropriate, insulated windows; and the use of recycled building materials. Storm water management at the new parking lot utilizes rain gardens for bio-retention and filtering.
