DBVW is currently working with Omni Development Corporation in conjunction with Wingate Companies to redevelop the Barbara Jordan II apartments which have sat vacant and uninhabitable since 2017. DBVW played an integral role while developing the design vision for this project. Seeking to revitalize the South Providence neighborhood, this innovative and transformational project will include demolishing the existing 74 substandard units and replacing them with 83 new units within 12 new, energy efficient buildings that fit well within their urban context.

Karissa has been an important member of the DBVW team for over fifteen years and has worked on numerous project types. She is a leader in both our multifamily residential and schools practices. With her experience working with non-profit housing developers to create affordable and market rate multi-family developments and helping school departments to reimagine their educational facilities, Karissa is often a go to team leader for these types of projects. When she joined the firm in 2006, her first assignment was working on the design of DBVW’s new offices; not an easy task when you consider the “client” was 30 architects and designers. Karissa’s known by clients for her dedication to each project, friendly attitude, and excellent communication skills.
