St Clare – Newport Senior Living
DBVW Architects worked with a non-profit senior living provider, St Clare-Newport, to meet the evolving long-term care needs of their community. The project greatly expands an existing care facility by adding thirteen skilled nursing beds and forty new independent /assisted living units. Using a “household” model for nursing care, the facility allows residents to seamlessly transition through multiple stages of individual care, including a separate, secure environment for Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Shared amenities include a media room, several gathering spaces, physical therapy and exercise facilities, a below-building parking area, and therapeutic gardens. To serve non-resident members of the community, the project also includes an adult day-care program and a roof-level dining area that offers spectacular views of Newport Harbor.

Doug’s experience with historic, low income, and new market tax credits has helped numerous important projects move forward and has solidified many long-term client relationships. His love of fishing consumes a great deal of his free time, as do his three sons, and you will often find them together on Narragansett Bay chasing striped bass.
