At approximately 103,000 square feet, James P. Adams Library is the largest academic building on Rhode Island College's campus and houses library services as well as few select college departments. DBVW Architects was hired to assist with defining the space and technology needs of the library, consistent with the broader objectives of the College’s Strategic Plan. Initial renovation designs consolidate the print collection into a high-density mobile shelving system. Further interior and exterior renovation designs explore how to bring the library into the 21st century and transform it into a signature building on campus.
